Be curious.

I have been teaching and learning about Language Arts and rhetoric for 20 years with students on Kauaʻi. I frequently write about education, place, and the power of curiosity, which cures boredom. I am VP of Hawaii Education Association, on the steering committee of the Kaua’i Writers Garden, and the former director of the Kauaʻi Teacher Fellowship. I also enjoy building things, surfing, and spending time with my wife and daughters.

I am currently working on a few projects, including a collection of essays, a collection of poems from my familyʻs daily writing practice during the global pandemic shutdown, and a journal about about my days in the ocean.
